Hello!

I'm Mar Jefferson Go, a graphic designer and visual artist based in Melbourne, Australia.

For over 10 years, I've worked in editorial design, publication production, branding, and marketing, creating visual work that communicates clearly while remaining engaging and thoughtfully crafted. My experience spans magazines, advertising, marketing campaigns, data visualization, and digital content, where I enjoy turning complex information into clean, accessible, and visually compelling designs.

Most recently, I've been leading the design direction for multiple B2B publications at SmartWork Media, collaborating with editors, writers, marketers, and production teams to deliver publications from concept through to print and digital release. Working across fast-paced editorial schedules has strengthened my skills in typography, layout, visual storytelling, and managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Outside of commercial design, I create paintings and illustrations under the name boatpaperplane. My personal work explores themes of growth, uncertainty, and finding meaning in life's detours. While my design work focuses on solving communication problems, my art gives me a space to experiment, stay curious, and continue growing creatively.

Whether I'm designing a magazine feature, building a brand identity, or creating an illustration, I believe good design should make ideas easier to understand while leaving a lasting impression.
